Maximum file size

Post by aiotech » Mon Nov 18, 2024 6:14 pm

Hello, I want to share a little VirtualBox VM in my space in blomp but the .vdi file (size around 5GB) is truncated to 512MB. Any other file needed by the VM is uploaded correctly (these are short files, aroung 4 to 8KB in size). So my question is: may I upload a file of about 5GB size or there is a limit on the size of files to upload (and to share) in blomp?

Hi Aiotech,

How are you?
Oh, that's amazing that you want to share your VritualBox VM and thank you for reaching out.

Now, let us answer your question.
Blomp does not impose a specific size limit on the files you upload. However, it's important to note that the only restriction is the available storage space on your account. As long as you have enough free space, you can upload files of any size, including a 5GB file.

If you need any technical support or have more questions please contact us!

Hi, thanks for the answer.

Actually I am testing the free plan, basically because it is difficult to find a cloud service accepting to store files of any size.
The main purpose would be to share some VMs with some customers. We do not want to share the same VMs for long time, just until the customer(s) will download them, then we will erase them and upload and share other new VMs and so on.

I do not know if you may look at my blomb account and folders, anyway this is the content of my blomb account:
I created 3 folders:

Alpine-Linux-3.20.3-std
this folder should contain all the folders and files of the VM having the same name:
Logs folder : (everything ok)
Alpine-Linux-3.20.3-std.vbox (ok)
Alpine-Linux-3.20.3-std.vbox-prev (ok)
Alpine-Linux-3.20.vdi (not ok, truncated at ~500MB)

VAPT-BASIC :
contains the ftp folder containing some Python scripts (everything correct here)

WinXP32SP3-VAPT
this folder should contain all the folers and files of the WinXP32SP3 VM
Logs folder : (everything ok)
Snapshots : (everything ok)
_WinXP32SP3-VAPT.vbox (OK)
_WinXP32SP3-VAPT.vbox-prev (OK)
WinXP32SP3-VAPT.vdi (not OK, truncated at ~500MB)

When I upload the folders seems that everything is working well, then in the mean time I do anything else but occasionally I look to the upload status and, I do not understand why, seems that the upload stops reaching more or less 500MB in size.
I do not know if may be interesting or not, to upload the files I used the browser interface.

Of course any help is very appreciated.
